8 DAYS FEZ TO MARRAKECH WITH CHAOUEN

From Fez we will go through the Middle Atlas mountains making a stop in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next town will be Azrou passing through the national park known for its cedar trees where the famous monkeys of the area are found. Next we will tour the Ziz Valley that will lead us to Erfoud, known for its fossils. Once we reach the desert, we will take a camel ride through the desert until we reach the heart of the desert where we will be welcomed, according to the tradition of the Sahara, with a Berber tea. Dinner and drum party at the Sahara camp.

ITINERARY

DAY 1:
TRANSFER TO THE FEZ HOTEL.

At arrival time we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Accommodation in Fes

DAY 2:
VISIT FEZ.

After breakfast we will begin the visit of the oldest of the imperial cities and spiritual center of the country. We will begin with a panoramic view from one of the hills that surround the city and then visit the bronze doors of the Royal Palace, and on foot we will enter the medina to visit Medersas (Kuranic study centers) workshops in the artisans’ neighborhood, divided by guilds and in which the spectacular tanners’ neighborhood stands out. DAY 3:
EXCURSION TO CHAOUEN (THE BLUE VILLAGE).

After breakfast we will go directly to Chaouen to visit the city, which is located within a biosphere natural reserve. Its streets painted white and blue, it is a town of wise, kind and respectful people, who offer visitors beautiful urban panoramas, as well as beautiful samples of local crafts and a peace and serenity that is difficult to find today. In the afternoon we will return to our destination, Fez.   Accommodation in Fez.

DAY 4:
FEZ – IFRANE – AZROU- MONKEY FOREST – MERZOUGA DESERT.

DAY 5:
THE MERZOUGA DESERT – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY.

You are already in the desert!… Today, it is mandatory to get up early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes, and then have breakfast. We will leave the dunes behind and head towards Tinghir where we will visit the Todra Gorges, an ancient sewage system from the 15th century. We will also take a look at the Tinghir palm grove, then we will reach the Todra gorges where we will rest. Next, we will walk through the city and through the Boumalne Dades valley to reach the Dades gorges. The river has eroded the rocks to create a beautiful landscape worth seeing. Dinner and accommodation in Dades.

DÍA 6:
VALLE DEL DADES – OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU – ALTO ATLAS – MARRAKECH.

We will cross the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses until we reach Ouarzazate where we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and after 25 km of road we will see the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO and famous for being the setting of cinematic blockbusters such as the Oscar-winning “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Sheltering Sky” or “Babel”. We will follow the road that, crossing the Tichka port (high Atlas), will lead us back to the “Red City”, Marrakech , and here you can go out at night to have a first contact with the city. DAY 7:
VISIT MARRAKECH

After breakfast we have a guided tour of the city of Marrakech: Starting with the Koutobia Minaret, (13th century) sister of the Giralda of Seville, with splendid harmony it is currently the lighthouse and spiritual center of Marrakech. Continuation to the Sâadian Tombs (16th century) where its central Carrara marble vault stands out. Later we will visit the Bahia Palace, (16th century) an example of aristocratic life in the Muslim Middle Ages, and where its ambassadors’ room stands out, with its cedar wood ceiling. On foot we will go to the “Plaza de Jemáa el F’naa” Declared: World Heritage Site. (The city visit begins at around 09:00 and ends at around 1:00 pm) Free afternoon Overnight in Marrakech.

DAY 8:
TRANSFER TO MARRAKECH AIRPORT.

At the agreed time, transfer to Marrakech airport will take place. END OF OUR SERVICES AND GOOD RETURN TRIP (2 hours before the flight).
