7 DAYS DESERT AND IMPERIAL CITY
With this circuit we invite you to discover the Historical Heritage of all of Morocco, visiting some of the most important cities in the country, as well as the most relevant natural spaces that will move your souls.
ITINERARY
DAY 1:
TRANSFER TO THE MARRAKECH HOTEL.
At the agreed time, we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Depending on the time of arrival you will have the possibility of having a first contact with the city. Accommodation at the hotel in Marrakech.
DÍA 2:
MARRAKECH – ALTO ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – VALLE DEL DADES.
After breakfast, we will start the desert tour. You will cross the High Atlas mountains , through the highest pass in the country Tizi in Tichka (2,260m altitude), then you will pass through interesting villages until you reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987), an enclosure fortified within a walled town that you will surely recognize, since this citadel has been the setting for very famous films.
Continuing the route, we will pass through Ouarzazate, we will return to the Highway of a Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura, and from there we will cross the Roses Valley to finally reach the Dades Valley. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel located in the Dades Gorges.
DAY 3:
DADES VALLEY – THE TODRA GORGES – THE MERZOUGA DESERT.
The next day, after breakfast, you will continue the route passing through many Berber villages. You will visit the Todra Gorges with the possibility of eating there, and thus take advantage and see the impressive place in peace. Once the visit is over, you will go directly to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will begin the camel excursion, stopping to watch the sunset, until you reach the heart of the desert. Upon arrival, an excellent and restorative tea and an exquisite Berber dinner will await you, all accompanied by the music of the tam-tam (drums). You will enjoy a unique and unforgettable night, thanks to the large number of stars that populate the desert nights. You will sleep in Berber tents.
DAY 4:
THE MERZOUGA DESERT – MIDELT – FEZ.
You are now in the desert, enjoying the magic of the dunes…! Today, it is mandatory to get up early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes, we will have breakfast and say goodbye to the desert. We will head to the north of the country through the Ziz Valley, taking advantage of the coolness of the blue Meski spring where you can rest. Planned stop in Midelt for lunch and then we will continue to Fez, passing through the towns of Ifrane and Azrou. During the journey we will cross the cedar forest, with ancient cedars and you will be able to enjoy seeing the Barbary macaques or Gibraltar monkeys. Accommodation in Fez.
DAY 5:
VISIT FEZ.
After breakfast we will begin the visit of the oldest of the imperial cities and spiritual center of the country. We will begin with a panoramic view from one of the hills that surround the city, and then visit the bronze doors of the Royal Palace, and on foot we will enter the medina, to visit Medersas (Koranic study centers) workshops in the neighborhood of the artisans: Divided by guilds, and in which the spectacular tanners’ neighborhood stands out. Accommodation in Fez.
DAY 6:
FEZ – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH.
After breakfast we will go to Casablanca to visit the Great Mosque of Casablanca, the largest in the world after the mosques of Mecca and Medina. This architectural masterpiece was built on water. Its minaret, the tallest in the world, rises in front of the Atlantic Ocean, offering its silhouette worthy of admiration. It can accommodate 20,000 faithful inside and 80,000 on its esplanade. The only mosque that can be visited by tourists in all of Morocco, it opens its doors to non-Muslims with daily visits. In the afternoon we will continue our tour to arrive in Marrakech around 7:00 p.m. Accommodation in Marrakech.
DAY 7:
VISIT MARRAKECH – TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT.
After breakfast we will have a guided tour of the city of Marrakech: Starting with the Koutobia Minaret, (13th century) sister of the Giralda of Seville, with splendid harmony it is currently the lighthouse and spiritual center of Marrakech. Continuation to the Sâadian Tombs (16th century) where its central Carrara marble vault stands out. Later we will visit the Bahia Palace, (16th century) an example of aristocratic life in the Muslim Middle Ages, and where its ambassadors’ room stands out, with its cedar wood ceiling. On foot we headed to the “Plaza de Jemáa el F’naa” Declared: World Heritage Site (the visit starts at around 09:00 and ends at 13:00).
At the agreed time we will transfer you to the Marrakech airport and END OF OUR SERVICES. (2 hours before the flight you have transfer to the airport).
